How bad of a 1st week did the ACC have and why is this Conference deserving of an automatic BCS bid?

so because boston college bea northeastern 56-0 does that mean theyre gonna win the ACC because they beat a FCS team and no one else can? of course not. 1st weeks are non-conference games, therefore they dont hurt theyre chances of winning the ACC. in my mind, the 1st week is preseason for college.
