Is an autopsy required if someone is murdered?

ok this is going to sound a little morbid. i have a project to do for a psych cl and we have to plan our death and our funeral. So i figure the way i will die will be murder, because i eventually want to work in a mental institution for the criminally insane. So we have to cover all the grounds for this project. such as, the way i died, where it happened, is there an autopsy, how much will the autopsy cost, and so on all the way to the burial where i will be laid to rest. so back to my question, if you are murdered in any way, is an autopsy required? and where would i find prices if there are any?
