Help!!! I'm Scared!!!?

My boyfriend is going through DT from alcohol. He had a seizure on Wednesday morning. His last drink was Sunday. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. When I go and see him he doesn't even realize that im there, he keeps hallucinating and asking for beer. One time hi thought that he was hiding in that back seat of a car hiding from his ex-girlfriend when he was actually strapped down to a bed. He can tell what day, month, or where he is. I was wondering is this all from the alcohol with-drawls? or could any of this confusion be from the seizure? How long will this last? and lastly, will anything be permanent?
