HOW TO DO SLEEPER TRICK?

I have a power yo fx3 auto return yoyo and i can't do a sleeper with it, i tried loosening the string which i think i did and i let it go to its nutrual string position, i've checked a million websites wich tell me same technique for sleeper but it doesn't work with my yoyo, btw i am a begginer
