What all needed to be installed from motherboard cd?

am going to format my Laptop..lenovo T61,dont have a mother board cd..ive found a site but what all do i need to install the list there is endless..and is there any way i can get the cd..do the computer ppl keep the cd..i stay in Hyderabad.like in delhi we have this Nehru place.?
