Why doesn't the director's commentary play when selected on the new Star Trek deleted scenes?

I got the JJ Abrams Star Trek special edition, and everything works fine but when I try to play the deleted scenes with director's commentary, it plays as normal, without the commentary. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it a possible disc defect? DVD player defect? Is there a secret hidden option somewhere I didn't hit? I definitely made sure I turned the commentary on.
