Why are the two words Jesus Christ such a pejorative term to Atheists?

It has been my experience that the words Jesus Christ drives Atheists crazy at their mere mention. You can mention Vishnu, Buddha, Allah, and God without such vitriol as the words Jesus Christ. I guess Christ was correct when he said "you will be persecuted at the mere mention of my name". Perhaps I am answering my own question. Bret Hume just experienced the same thing when he said Tiger Woods should embrace Christianity. Atheists, please don't blame Christ for the actions of Christians as it is the philosophy of Christ we hope to attain but invariably fall short.
