Does this guy like me...help?

so a bout a mont or so ago a found out through friends that this guy in my grade likes me. I never had really talked to him before, but i thought to give him a try. he gave me his number and we small-talked texted for a while and messaged each other on line. we smiled at school, but that was about it. at the end of the year he and his friend told me and my friends that we should hang out this summer. on the bus ride he sat next to me but we didn't talk and then he left to sit next to somebody else. a few days later I texted him "what's up" but he never texted back. Is he still interested? should I text him again.
